yes, having a way to compare changes in actual expenditure for example for a single line item (or overall) across months would help me to track whether my spending is getting higher or lower across time

yup!

The the items under the categories have a different frequency, may have a fixed or variable cycle, some are eventual.

Lifestyle: eventual

Utility: monthly

Rent: weekly

...etc

Spend by category in the Dashboard had a few extra options (like: last week, last 14 days, last month) it would be so useful.

Because I could keep an eye on each of the categories within their current cycle to see how I am performing for it.

ATM, I can only see where the damage is already done (last month, or before).

On the current month (so far) I am blindsided by the irregularity of the cycle cut.

Income: varies a lot: weekly, quarterly, monthly or eventually for contracts but it is less than an issue for me in case of budgeting as it is predictable.
