It would be incredibly helpful to have a tagging system that lets users label transactions across different categories. For example, if I take a holiday and spend money on flights, accommodation, dining out, and even a new suitcase, I want to be able to tag all those with “Holiday 2025.” That way, I can quickly see how much the entire trip cost — even though those expenses fall under very different categories.

This would solve a key issue: irregular or one-off expenses (like holidays, weddings, big vet bills, etc.) currently distort my regular spend overview. With tags, I could temporarily exclude all transactions tagged “Holiday” from my spend overview, giving me a clearer picture of my typical monthly costs.

Possible functionality:

Add custom tags (e.g., #holiday, #wedding, #moving, #pet).

Filter transactions by tag to see grouped spending.

Exclude or include specific tags from budget views or monthly summaries.

Option to "archive" tags or remove them from current analysis (e.g., no longer include pet expenses if the pet has passed away).

Tags stay separate from categories and don’t interfere with existing budget logic.

Why It Matters:

Not all expenses are ongoing or repeatable — but they still affect how we understand our spending habits. Tags give users the flexibility to zoom in and out on the parts of their financial life that actually matter to them. This could make budgeting, reporting, and planning far more accurate and personal.
